Diamond Solitaire

A diamond solitaire refers to one sole diamond on any piece of jewelry.  They are most commonly placed on earrings but can also be placed on necklaces, rings, or pendants.   Their simplicity adds to their elegance and they are a perfect choice for any gift or occasion.  A single diamond represents many things such as; commitment, love, importance and innocence, when given as a gift.  If you choose to purchase a diamond solitaire there are many things you must keep in mind.

Because this diamond will be the sole stone on the piece of jewelry you choose it is important to choose the perfect cut, color and shape for that diamond.  Solitaire diamonds are usually large so they are able to catch the eye.  When choosing a diamond it is important to keep the style of your loved one in mind.  Different cuts and shapes can make a diamond of any color look extremely different when compared to another of a different style.  Choosing the right cut, shape and color will bring uniqueness to the diamond you choose making it more personal and sentimental.

Choosing the right piece of jewelry to place your diamond solitaire on is also very important and should be chosen carefully.  Different woman prefer different types of jewelry so it important that you choose a piece of jewelry that will be worn.  There are also pros and cons to every piece that you may choose.

Earrings are the most often worn piece of jewelry for most women.  If you choose earrings for your solitaire diamond your loved one could get much use out of them.  However, earrings come in pairs so you would need two diamonds to complete the set, this could be pricey.

A necklace is common choice for a single diamond.   Many women can get much use from a solitaire necklace and often times they draw the most attention because they are very visible.  Because diamond solitaire pieces have no other accents it can sometimes look plain if the right colors, cuts and shapes are not chosen.

Solitaire pendants are not very popular; however, they could be the right choice for some individuals.  The diamond on a solitaire pendant is placed in a metal frame, which can be simple or elaborate.  This is a great thing because the design of the frame can accentuate any diamond regardless of cut, color or shape.  A downfall to this piece is that it can rarely be used.  It is uncommon to wear pendants except for on special occasions.
